Onli Studio's Origins of Blanga is a dense Kirby-esque ride with three Black Power superheroes through the tripped-out realms of New Afrika. Malcolm-10, Sustah Girl and Nog simultaneously fight complicated evil that rages throughout Da Jects and threatens the Rhythmic Zone. Malcolm-10's two episodes are frenzied-action urban warfare with some sci-fi flare as Malcolm takes on a bunch of Negro-Nazis in Da Jects.

Sustah Girl's story, the funniest piece and also my favorite, is about her morphing from school teacher to amazonian warrior and grappling with an enraged Sick Sister's aching feet and entranced legion of man-Hypnots. The story of Nog is the one most based in the Rhythmic Zone, saturated with Nubian legend and poetic visuals. It's also the clearest explaination of the passageway through the realms of the Blanga universe and the interconnectedness of its heroes. Pulpy, yet personal Onli's Blanga manages the balancing act of getting the reader wrapped up in a lot of High Weirdness while still having something to say. -EF

"NOG The Protector of the Pyramides". 1981. Good Condition. This is the indie Graphic Novel that opened the door to the growing Black Age of Comics genre/movement bringing true diversity to this industry.
Long before the trending of Afrofuturism and the diversity we enjoy in the current comic book industry.

(Onli uses the French spelling of Pyramides as an homage to his late mentor Moebius and the French Bande-Dessinee explosion of the 1970s that gave us Heavy Metal Magazine, plus Tron, and Fifth Element movies.)

The first book published by ONLI STUDIOS during the classic "Black & White" Boom of the 1980s that included the likes of Teen-Aged Ninja Mutant Turtles and much more.

Its original content was reprinted in 2021 in the New Your Best-Selling Graphic Novels listed, "Its Life How I See it"!

Original art from NOG was featured mural-sized on the outer wall of the Musuem of Contemporary Art, Chicago in 2021 for its blockbuster group exhibition,
 "CHICAGO COMICS"!

Making it historic in Art Terms along as the coming expansion of the comics' industry.
