Atlanta / Chicago - Sights & Sounds Museum of Black Culture hosted the first annual "Watermelon Festival" Rhythmistic art happening from ONLI STUDIOS. Prof. Onli has been visiting the emotionally and nutritionally charged watermelon in his artistic practice for decades. Here are a few pictures for those who asked about the event. We at ONLI STUDIOS want to express our appreciation and respect for all the positive and intelligent folks at Sights & Sounds along with all the energetic participants per the "Red, Black & Green" passion fruit creative festival. "How sweet they were!!"
The Sights & Sounds Museum is expecting to grow into a larger space soon. We will see you next year at the new location of the Sights & Sounds Expo Museum. Photos D. Dawson.

PEACE DAY- CHICAGO- Welcome to Rhythmistic Art Week. In appreciation of EXPO CHICAGO this weekend at Navy Pier. It is the most amazing event of its type. It features some of the best visual art on the planet.
Ogelsby Elementary School-
"I am a 1965 graduate of the school. Yes, it is in a troubled at-risk 'hood. It has been that long before our digital news feeds noticed. Some of my classmates there are life long friends. They are now retired Fire Captains, Lawyers, Educators, Corporate Administrators, Musicians, Artists, Accountants, Business Owners, and more.
We all were faced with street crime back then. However we bonded together for success. Men in the area like Mr. L., ( Mr. Leonard,) ran the Boy Scouts. Him and that troop made a critical difference to many of us males who participated. Yes there were shootings. Yes we knew the shooters. They were often our school mates too. For us the body-count started back then! But that count and them were not the entire story.
Philip Jackson, of Black Star, is an old high school classmate and friend. He inspired a group of Men to meet, greet and Escort students there on the first day of school. I really felt that. I am a recently CPS Art Educator / Coach among other things. So.........

I went back to donate an artist studio session to create a few banners for today's PEACE DAY Celebration at Oglesby. I found the Principal, The Art Teacher, The Clerk, The N.C.L.B. person, other staff and the 5th Graders i worked with professional, dedicated, positive, intelligent, and just so cool to be with.
As that late great 20th Century philosopher from England, John Lennon, once sang" "All we are saying .....is give PEACE a chance!!!."

These are two recent illustrations the Black Age founder, Turtel Onli did for the ever-hip Chicago / University of Chicago based, South Side Weekly.  All located in the community that was the power base for President Obama.  Also the birthplace of the growing Black Age of Comcis movement.
Onli was once a major market illustrator. This may be a type of comeback for him.

ONLI STUDIOS has racks dedicated to the fans of all things Black Age in the gift shops of the Sights and Sounds Expo Museum near Atlanta and the Trading Post Gift Shop of the DuSable Museum in Chicago.  Mainstream comic book stores will not accept such a dedicated rack.  We love our fan and want them to experience our amazing products in the real. Not just in the downloaded format.  ONLI STUDIOS also presents impressive Rhythmistic Visual Arts exhibitions in galleries, stores and museums.

FREE YOUR MIND!
Support your dream and not the mainstream!

"I am proud to have your time and attention when it comes to creativity, culture and commerce. You deserve the promise and excitement that the indie Black Age of Comics continues to offer. We have posed and pushed the mainstream.  We exposed how the publishers of Manga-Anime use low production values and tend not to hire creative talent of color. Their books tend to be printed on cheap paper stocks and the art styles routinely stereotypic."

How many Blacks and Latinons love and buy Anime-Manga, but how many actually get paid to create Anime-Manga?

Black Age of Comics indie publishers hires Whites, Blacks, Asians, LGTG folks and Latinos routinely.

The BIG TWO are wisely hiring many more diverse creatives along with pushing a broader range of characters. Why?  Because of the push and power of the intelligent indie Black Age genre since it was launched in 1993 by Prof. Onli. This move by Onli changed the game forever! The more we grow your participation, the more the mainstream wants to control the game.  They will not control the game.

FREE YOUR MIND!

The BLACK AGE of COMICS is the future of this industry.  Why be loyal to characters created in  the 1940s and 1960s?  Your music and food choices are not that lame. Characters that your grandparents grew up on?  Really?

Have you ever noticed how most music collections are so much Blacker than our Graphic Novels or comic books collections?

We ofer you that magic of discovery!  The power of new, fresh & different!  We are the growing Black Age of Comics Movement.
We make it easy for you to download our products.  The Africomics image is the link to a new world of creativity!

Your freedom awaits!

Talking about growing a force of creativity, culture & commerce...
Prof. Onli often brings passion to the promise and productivity needed and in full effect to grow this genre. The Black Age of Comics.
