In 1995 there was still only one Black Age Convention. Now there are four in the USA and one in Nigeria. Many more to come.

1970 Onli founded the Black Arts Guild, in Chicago to support young talented student artists to transition into emerging professional artists. It lasted until 1977 when Onli left to live, study & work in Paris, France where he discovered the bande-dessinee industry and formulated the foundation for the growing Black Age of Comics Movement which was officially launched Feb. 1993 in Chicago.
