February 2013 will be the 20th anniversary of the launch of the Black Age Movement.

In February of 1993 Comics Buyers Guide published the manifesto type article entitled, "The Black Age of Comics" by Turtel Onli.

That same month Onli conceived of and worked with Craig Rex Perry & Cassandra Washington to produce the first ever Black Age of Comics Convention at the South Side Community Art Center in the historic Bronzeville area of Chicago.  Plus Milestone Media launched the most important company in the history of the Black Age.
